ESO FUNDRAISING AUCTION

Opening 7pm GST on Monday 2nd November and closing 12 noon GST on Thursday 4th November.

We are honoured to have the opportunity to auction a beautiful painting donated by artist Joana Mollet and co-signed by His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth. The painting, entitled “Masirah”, is an abstract representation of Masirah Island which hosts two of ESO’s flagship projects, The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Project and the Sea Turtle Conservation Project. The painting forms part of the Coastline, Community and Conservation Exhibition currently open at Bait al Baranda.

The painting chosen for auction, entitled “Wild Masirah”, carries particular relevance for ESO as it is an abstract representation of Masirah Island, home to two of ESO’s flagship projects, The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Project and the Sea Turtle Conservation Project. The painting forms part of Joana Mollet’s Coastline, Community and Conservation Exhibition being held at Bait al Baranda. The exhibition features a selection of landscapes celebrating Oman’s beautiful coastline, along with two installations that Joana created with children from local schools, supported by ESO, to raise awareness about beach litter and the importance of conserving our fragile marine habitat.

Auction instructions:

The original piece entitled Masirah is 80 x 100cm, acrylic and mixed media on paper.
Auction will open at 7pm on Monday 2^nd November and close at 12 noon on Thursday 5^th November GST.
The winning bidder will be notified at 12 noon on Thursday via email. A representative from ESO will be in touch soon after to arrange payment and delivery of the artwork.
